~Homage~

Every sampled beat is a tribute to dreams that came before it. Some made it. Some are broken dreams brought back to life with every spin at 33RPM. We emulate, we contrast, we innovate. We are all part of the same creative lineage, no matter how big or small our place is in the grand scheme. Everything is a Remix. Nothing is new under the sun.

Thumbs down to the Gaye Estate. Thumbs down to the angsty Kanye haters in Ottawa. Thumbs up to everyone who creates, and leaves their eternal mark on the world.

On this tape, I incorporated slight elements to pay tribute in my own way. I primarily used dollar bin records. I injected elements of groundbreaking pioneers like MJ and Madonna. I added new flair to classic, recognizable sounds. I remixed some of the greats from the 90's. I touched samples I first messed with when I just got started making beats. I wear my samples proudly - That's the S on my chest.

Every time you blow dust off a record, you blow wind into the spirit of an old dream.
